i want to know if saab 900s r good cars

Hi, l am an auto tech, my buddy sold me Saab900 when l needed a winter beater to drive, fuel pump died, was it 90.00 bucks like a Chevy?, no it was 300, needed a master cylinder, not 45 bucks, 125.00, & so on & so on, & so on, & GOOD LUCK, finding any parts in stock, l had to order my master cylinder out of Europe just to get a better price,
and good luck finding a repair shop that is any good at fixing it, my advice is there r many many more cars out there that r much cheaper & easy er to repair & maintain, Saab is r just too costly too repair

Saab 900 is are excellent cars.. both the c900 is and NG900 is (classic and new gen)..

The prices are MYTH's.. l have worked on these cars for a few years now and grew up around them. l pay much less for parts than most people do on any other car.. Order parts from eeuroparts.com and they come to my house free shipping next day..

SAAB'S are really good cars but they do have their quirks. Invest in a repair manual and be willing to do some of the work yourself. There is a national SAAB Club that will point you in the right direction.

l have a 97 900s (NG, NG=new gen, which means models made after GM bought SAAB). It has been a pretty good car. l have about 100K miles now and l have replaced the alternator, air conditioning, distributor, battery, exhaust 2x, brakes, alarm system, clutch, clutch cable 3x. Really solid and great to drive. Great in the snow.

l love saabs but will tell you the ''new'' 900s are no where near as good as the ''old''. new 900 is are post 1995 l believe when they went with a more nissan sentra body type. ask anyone that had an old 900 and now has a new 900 and they would kill to get their old one back.

the old 900s are hard to come by - people that still have them typically do not want to let them go!
