Bought used 03 Saab 9.3 convertible. Has a strange whisteling sound coming from the dash area when you get up to about 60-70 mph. Took it to my Saab dealer and they said the windshield needed to be re-sealed. Took it to auto glass place and they say the windshield seal is good. Any ideas what else could be causing this? It makes the noise with the top or down.

it is got to be an air leak somewhere. the easiest way l know to find it is to drive the car and have someone else hold a lit cigarette and move it around the area where you think the noise is coming from. if there is a leak, the smoke will be pulled to it. it is an old school technique, but it works. good luck.

it is the reveal seal located at the top of the windshield. It is vibrating at highway speeds. Take some duct tape and apply it to the top of the windshield making sure you cover the black seal and the windshield. Drive the car. Is the noise gone? If it is then see if someone can reglue the top seal. If not, then the windshield has to come out because the seal is set into the adhesive that holds the windshield to the body.

my 900se does the same thing, except when l open the window on the left front side, l took the mirror on the l.h.s. off for a respray and the wistle went too! could be the air deflection off the mirror onto the water channel strip on the windshield? try removing the mirror and see.
