From MSN ur exact answer on a test track in 2000 for a Viggen:
Performance
0 - 60 Time - 6.2 seconds
(seconds) 1/4 Mile Time - 15.48 seconds
(seconds) 1/4 Mile Speed - 131 mph
(mph) Braking 60 - 0
mph (ft.) - 96.20
Saab 9-3 coupe Viggen - I4 2.3L turbo (230 hp) 5M + ABS

According to Consumer Guide, the base car (the SE u r talking about with the 2.0 engine) is still quite quick, at 7.5 seconds 0-60 mph although in this generation turbo lag is noticable.

l have have the same year with exactly what you have mentioned and have driven the viggen and think that the auto is faster. 4 speeds are generally fast. l once read somewhere that the 4spd auto is faster (proving that its not just me).
