Just bought a new 2003 Saab 9 3 convertible Love the car but there is a whistling sound when l get up to 65 or over. Took it to my local saab dealer and they said that it is caused by an aftermarket windshield and needs to be re-sealed. Oddly enough l found a recall online for 97 saab windshields that whistle. Is there any easy fix for this that l can do myself? if not what am l looking at to have it re-sealed?

Im not sure what they charge.. l would say about 50$. But even a professional will have a hard time getting it out and not breaking it.So l would go prepared to buy a new one.

The problem is that the reveal seal along the top of the windshield is not fully seated. This is caused by an improper installation when the replacement windshield was installed. A temporary sanity fix would be to apply black duct tape along the entire top edge of the windshield so as to cover the black rubber trim seal. This seal is vibrating at highway speeds & sounds as if there r angry bees near the top of the windshield. You may also have someone try to reglue this seal & see if that will do the trick without having to remove the windshield.

l could answer you question if you tell me where exactly the whistling sound is coming from, is it the bottom, side, top of the windshield?
