would a old 500 quid with 150.000 still be a reliable motor? are they quick, are they prone to faults?thanks

They are not that reliable, My neighbor keeps a few on hand to repair the one he drives.

yes they are very good cars and quite nice 2 my dad has 1 and they are quite fast

shityeah,...may suffer from a little lag but not anything that will be disadvantage. Once you hear that thing spool up!! Man you will want to get lost driving around!

l own a repair shop,and they was real good cars ,but now its not going to be something you can run really hard ,because of the mileage ,anything with high mileage on it is going to need work,and these cars are no exception to that,it is a pretty quick car,but always keep in mind, it used ,and if you treat it bad it will tear up,good luck,i hope this help,s.

im nt sure hw they drive but l span my astra into one..i drove my astra for another 6 months afterwards..the saab nvr drove again.they r reliable n l always thought theyd hold up in a crash..id nw buy an astra b4 a saab..my opinion..although l know saabs will last longer thn the astra in normall conditions id rather be safe if and whn the time comes

Buy it. 150K miles is not too bad for a saab. The turbo is fast, but they're really safe too. Parts are not too pricey but saabs are really reliable anyway. If you give it a good service every now and then it will prob run forever!

Buy it quick at that price, they are mint cars, lots of fun and most have decent service history. If you do not buy it let me know where it is and l will!!!!!!

150K!!! Hell its just getting broke in. One of my customers is at 860K on the same engine & turbo. His secret, 3K oil changes, never overheated & regular maintenance. Now as to what ur looking at. Have the compression checked. No reading lower than 130# & highest to lowest with 10% total differential. Then have the shop wet check the compression. Should jump readings to 140# plus. If so engine has not been overheated that shrinks Saab pistons quick. Next, if u r truly serious about keeping this car, have the shop pull off the valve cover. You r looking to find a CLEAN head internally, NO SLUDGE. If this looks good u most likely have a good shot at keeping this car for a long time. One last thing, if the car is an automatic transmission, FORGET everything l just wrote. PASS ON IT, 9000 Saab automatic trannys r not good or known for long life. You do not need the problems. They are good engines the problem with Saab would be electrical. Check with previous owner on this. If the body and maintenance have been kept up l would buy it.

They totally suck. Do NOT buy a Saab 9000 turbo. You will thank me for this advice someday.

Saab did not have a clue on how to keep a head gasket on a car, & their transmissions r pathetic, especially the automatics.

They r pretty cars, very spacious, & they drive well & perform really well. It is all these seductive qualities that make them such a foolish purchase.

If somebody tells u ''oh yeah, l know this guy who has 350,000 miles on one u will find out one of two things. A) this car does not exist, nobody can show it to u or B) he has spent about a million dollars getting it to 350K.

if they fr anything like the 93 se turbo l had then you may go through a few turbos but man!can they move on a dragstrip!
