l have a saab 9-3 with D.I.S.l believe one of the coils is going bad but not sure how l can test it.My car runs perfectly fine for the most part.But once l put the gas pedal down about half way the car starts to go then starts shaking rather violently then the check engine light starts flashing.The code for the light said it was a misfire on cylinder 2.Does this sound like a coil pack problem?l replaced the plugs already and that did not help.Any help would be great! Mr. B thanks so much for your uneducated guess for my problem.l unlike you have money to fix my car rather than buying a moped which l assume is all you can afford.However l guess you are not smart enough to think ahead and understand that even mopeds can have problems (so your point is not understood here)...Your response is both childish and ignorant.l suggest that you think before speaking and perhaps find a school that can teach you proper etiquette, as your parents have done a terrible job.l trust any further comments from you will be no help, so they will be ignored and l hope others who take this site seriously can ignore them as well. Thanks for your suggestions.My only question is My car does not run off of the cassette which is what Napa tried to sell me for 800 bucks.My car functions off of COP (coil over plug)so each plug has its own ignition coil.do you think they can still test this with tech2?Thanks again!!

Your first problem is that you have a saab. It is best that you sell the saab and buy a real car. This should solve your shuddering issue.
If you can not find another car there are various forms of transport available such as mopeds.

Mr B, what are you talking about? Saabs are good cars. Get a real car? Wth is that supposted to mean? Every car has problems. This question is how to fix it, not whether or not he should sell his car.

Yay, thanks for putting Mr. B (itch) in his place. l just bought my second Saab & love it. Pssh, it looks like a real car to me.
Anyway, l am not really a 9-3ss expert. Most of my Saab knowledge leans toward the 9-5, but l do know that u should definitely not drive ur car with the check engine light flashing like that. If the light stays on constantly it is usually something minor, but when it is flashing it is the car is way of screaming ''pull the hell over please!'' A flashing CEL means u r getting catalyst-damaging misfires- not good. If you're just getting misfiring on cylinder 2, u should probably just replace the coil pack on cylinder 2. But u can put cylinder 2 is coil pack on a different cylinder & see if the misfire moves to that cylinder. Just do not drive it like this for long or you're going to have other big $$$ repairs to make. Good luck & enjoy ur Saab!

Looks & feels like a D.I.Cassette issue. Normally dealers can check the condition of the D. l Cassette through Tech2 as the software contains that facility. In addition, special tools consist of a D.I. cassette that can be plugged in for testing purposes, depending that the dealer has this in his special tools. My best suggestion would be test the D. l with tech 2 to come up with a confirmed diagnosis. Misfires can be counted through Tech 2 as well & then there must be Fault code generated once the Check engine lights up, this will guide u in the right direction with a proper remedy.
Saaber- Congrats on ur 04 9-5 Aero. l am sure u will love it. l am driving the same with over 72500 miles on it & it is doing just great with no issues at all. However, l did change the D. l Cassette at 50,000 miles while the car was still under Warranty. Additional Yes bro, they can.
