l recently sat in a 2009 Saab 9-3 2.0T at the auto show and really liked it. l checked the local dealer is inventory, and they only had one with a manual transmission (not interested in the automatic) and it was a 2008 model.

Can someone please tell me the differences between the 2008 and 2009 9-3 is (2.0T only) are? Are there any significant changes, or are they basically the same?

GM revamped the interior of the 9-3 in 2007, & then redid the exterior in 2008 keeping the 2003 platform intact (the same chassis is still used along with the same engine for the front wheel drive version). Except in 2008 they added the XWD (all wheel drive) version for the Aero model which gave it more horsepower due to higher compression & some other engine changes (250 hp to 280 hp boost).

Very minor changes between 2008 & 2009. For 2009, Saab has expanded the 9-3 is trim levels, while the 2.0T is now available with all-wheel drive & some of the Aero trim is performance enhancements. Much of the equipment is the same as last year, although Bluetooth phone connectivity is now standard on all models. Last year is limited-edition Turbo X sedan & wagon have been dropped from the lineup.

So for the model u r mentioning, Bluetooth is probably the only difference if it is not available on the car u r looking at. Hope it helps.
