l am looking to buy a used car. And l was thinking about buying a used 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T with 1500 miles. Can someone tell me what is bad and good about the Saab 9-3?

l have worked for saab for 6 years now and that is the best model yet. the only newer saab with any problems was the 2003 9-3 the first production year they were nightmares but the 08 has 210 hp and a lot of factory standard options if you go used get saab certified it only cost $1,200.00 but well worth it it covers the car 6 years 100,000 miles bumper to bumper. the only con l would have to say is that the cup holders suck..

Saabs are under-appreciated by many car shoppers, perhaps due to their quirkiness (like the ignition switch located on the center console between the front seats). But they offer good performance and fuel economy in a single package.

Historically, reliability is not at Toyota levels, but nobody ever accused Toyotas of being fun to drive.

Personally, l would not be scared off.

l am 21 yrs old & l bought a 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T in Feb. & l love it! l just did get my 10,000mile service & so far no problems. A few features l dislike is when u do not put ur seat belt on right away it will keep beeping at you. It will also warn u a/b ur tire pressure & other little things. Also, l have the Bose system & it does not seem to the best. Overall l love my car & l think it is a great choice for someone who is interested in buying a Saab. Just make sure u do not over pay for it. If u have not already looked on Edmunds.com u should check out the used car index to check the price & even try to go lower with the price.
l hope this helps!

All Good nothing bad. Even the 2003 were good but problems could not be diagnosed quickly enough as there was no historical background for those problems, 2003 being the first launch year. Plus u have warranty to cover for atleast 4 years & u can buy extended warranty to cover a longer period if u have any fears. l have been with SAAB for 16 years & l think it is one of the best products available but the reputation has suffered at the hands of Used car buyers ( specially the ones buying with high mileages in excess of 80,000 miles & expect the car to run forever without repairs) & D.I.Y people.

l really love Saab! l do not own one, but one of my immediate family members owns one and it is a fantastic car. Her model is a 2007 and it is fantastic, so l would imagine that a 2008 would be just as great, if not better. It is a comfortable car to drive and ride in. Great handling, take off acceleration, safety, fuel economy (my family member made a 350 mile trip on just over 1/2 tank of gas!) -- all fantastic! l would definitely go for it if you can get a good price on it.
