Saab dealer is quoting $595 to put on two new rotors and breaks on front of my Saab which seems a bit pricey to me. How much should l expect to pay for this? l knew repairs and maintenance to a Saab would be more, but this seems outrageous to me!

Call Midas for a quote. The dealer will be $200 to $275 more and probably worth it. Cheap after market brake jobs are not the best. OK for an old American beater, but with imports you will end up with brake noise from cheap brake pads, pulsation from cheap rotors that warp and less experienced mechanics that may not deal with the rear emergency brake components.

Midas will likely rip you off. l paid around $200 for 4 rotors, all of the pads and the Allen key needed to take off the caliper. If you have a dad or friend they will be able to help you on this task. l do not remember the brakes being any different than my Chevrolets. Check Napa, Auto Zone, etc. for prices.

That sounds like the number is about right for the dealer, keep in mind u r paying list price on the parts, & book time on the labor.
But u r getting OE parts that were designed to work with the car & will work properly. Do not install junk aftermarket parts on that car, that will most likly be a move that u regret.
As others have said if u have some one that knows cars u cars they can help u do the brakes they r not that tough. Order the parts on line from someone like fcpgroton.com & u can save a ton of money on them & get OE parts.

l paid $965 at the dealer for all 4 (exact same car) about a month and a half ago so unfortuneately, that sounds correct.

l had a 1999 and paid for this at beginning of last semester around October..

i paid 86 an hour for labor and it cost me 581 to get the same service with a ceramic brake pad and two new rotors
