I recently bought a Saab from carmax with an autoloan. Is it possible to trade it in for another car?

The majority of the loan has not been paid for, but from my understanding there should be away around all of this... even if l have to sell it myself. Reason being l know models after 2001 9-3 Saab is have an almost definite sludge problem in the engine. I'd appreciate any help on this topic.

What model & year is ur Saab? l do not believe that 9-3 is 2003+ were affected by sludge. 2001 & 2002, maybe. Regardless, before u go wasting time & money trying to sell it, definitely get ur car checked out by a Saab specialist. It is very easy to tell if you've got sludge, & if u do not already it is very easy to prevent with the PCV update & 5k mile oil changes. Sludge does not just pop up over night. It takes a while so if u keep an eye on things & keep up with maintenance u will get many loving miles out of ur Saab. It is up to u though, if u really want to give up on it no one is stopping you. Good luck & l hope u keep it!

You would have to sell the car & pay back the loan since a preexisting condition is not a reason for a dealer to buy back a car. However, ur model year is important as ur facts r not quite right. Here is a link showing the models & years Saabs r affected, through 2003 but not beyond:

http://lemonlawclaims.com/saab_engine_failure_and_sludge_p.htm

This link also shows that the problem ends in 2003, but also shows the biggest offender with this problem (widespread) is Toyota, bellieve it or not:

Finally, this link explains with the changeover to the Ecotec engine during the 2003 model year the problem went away:

So, before rushing off & selling u may want to consider the model year u own since u did not specify it in the question.
