Yes you can make repairs yourself until and unless they are related to electrical and diagnostics. However, all depends on the past upkeep of the car and mileage. Is it turbo or normally aspirated?

yeah sure,,,goooood car l got a 92 9000 hatch manual 159,000k a lil' different in body design but there could be some simple repairs depending on last owner,,, one thing the brake lines are very sucseptible to rusting and leaking, check those and the hub bearings and watch for exterior rust if U have the knowledge of any elec. operations than U can do-it also just check back here for help,,,

I've had a total of 6 Saabs & l think these r the best cars ever made.

I've owned 2 Saab 9000 (1 a CSE & the other a CDE). I've had 2 accidents with the CSE & walked unscathed from both. The second accident totalled the CSE (hence the CDE) but both passengers simply opened the doors & walked away without even a scratch.

l still own the CDE but it stayed 2 years in a garage & the rear wheels r now blocked.

That is why l bought a 1996 900S which is quite satisfying.

l do not do any repair on my cars, except changing bulbs & wipers.
