what is your opinion, especially of the new 9-3
l am getting one, it arrives next wednesday...i can hardly wait...the time is going by SO slow!!

A very good car but a bit overpriced

l do not think it is a good car, ever since GM took over the company in late 94, l think the quality has gone down hill. with that being said, its an over priced GM product.

l have had three Saab 900's, & loved them all. My '83 & '87 were brand new. Had an '89 900S bought used. No experience with the 9-3. l do like it, but still prefer the *classic* 900. These r reliable, safe cars, capable of *many* miles! Transmissions tend to be the weak spot though the engines r bullet proof. Service & parts tend to be expensive, & there r a few other 'quirks', but u have to decide if the cost is worth it to be driving a 'unique' car! l am not driving one now, but still consider myself a 'Saab Enthusiast'! l may be back.:-)

they are certainly VERY safe, and have some cool gadgets

l am driving SAAB since 1994 and am good for no other car. l am into my 4 th SAAB, all 9-5 Aero. You feel safe, secure and they are fun to drive. Fantastic cars to own and to be seen. GM has not interefered with anything at SAAB. Go for it.

Sounds like what I'd do if l had to drive one. They're for women and men who is women forced them to buy one.

l like the Saab 9-3 & Saab 9-5. But mostly for looks. l was trying to look for a cheap one but l sort of gave up because of the petrol prices. They look vey nice. But I'd like to ride in & drive one

l work in a saab dealership and surprisingly think they are over priced poorly manufactured cars that is why l drive a Honda

l know this might be something u would not wanna hear but l will speak my peace & maybe help u in the long run. l am not sure what type of Saab r u getting but if l was u l would stay away from any Saab. Unless it comes with a bamper to bamper warranty & sell the car once it expires. Or u will become a common member of saab forums; asking how to fix something new every single day.
Don’t get me wrong the cars r nice to drive & they feel good but its hell, l mean just a ghetto hell. l have a 1999 9-5 with 70k miles on it, the car is in so good body shape but u don’t wanna know how many problems it gets me into. So many surprises at least every few weeks something goes wrong.
My cousin has the same problem with a 2002 version of this car. And my roommate’s parents had 1999 & they luckily managed to sell it. l wish l can sell mine but l have to fix it first to get it to a point that it can pass a test drive, l don’t wanna sell someone a lemon but l think l have no choice .Saab is already a lemon from the scratch.

Problems l had & fixing cost for the last six month:
1. Timing chain, = $2500
2. Break Bosster & cylinder = $1000
3. D l casset = $500
4. A/C = $700

And this is not even that bad, l have seen worse cases with other saab owners.

ONLY BUY THEM WHEN THEY COME WITH A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY.

They r nice looking cars & l always think of the possibility of owning one specifically the 9-3 Aero. The convertible is a great looking car as well. l like the placement of their ignition key on the console. Not a lot of people like it though. Saab is just sticking to it. It is all about heritage. The only thing l hated that GM did was rebadge the Trailblazer to 9-7 & the Subaru Impreza to 9-2. What is up with that?! l cannot stop thanking the demise of the 9-2. Here is hoping the 9-7 would follow suit!!!
