l just bought a 1996 saab 900 turbo convertible for $2,200. It already has 150,000 miles on it. yes, l know that is a lot. but l only need the car for a couple years and then im moving. so how many more miles do you think l could get out of this car? it is been well maintained and everything. second, the top motor or something is not working anymore so the convt top doesnt go up/down . but can l still manually put it up/down. if so , how? Anddd it is a turbo so l have to use premium gas right?

l am shocked that a turbo went past 100,000 miles, let alone 150,000. All turbos of all makes have problems in general past 100,000.

Yes, u HAVE TO use premium. Cars like that REQUIRE it. You can try to put regular in it, but the car will ''hiccup lose performance, mileage, & just have a shorter lifespan.

There should be an emergency line u can pull to get the top to manually release, but l am not too familiar where it is on the '96 model. If u have the owner is manual, it is most likely in there.

If you treat the car right and have it serviced as required the car should give you several years of enjoyable and electriction cheap motering, you would need to get a new roof motor to get the roof operating, which is not worth spending that much money on a car that age. get a good auto electriction to look at it just in case its only in the switch or some of the wireing
