l am thinking of buying one it is 8 years old and l do know that the turbo was changed and there is 77000miles on it. Would like to know if you think l would be buying trouble or are they a good reliable car?

l had a 9-5 2.3t SE estate a couple of years ago. It was great up until it got to about 50k miles & then l had a chain of major & very costly problems. The main ones were that the turbo blew - cost about £2500 to replace. Then a few months later a nasty noise started coming from the engine. After spending £1500 on investigation l was told that the idler shaft was the problem & it would be a further £3500 to repair.

l got rid of the car very quickly & bought a Volvo V70 instead which has not let me down once & it is far more economical.

l was probably just a bit unlucky with my car but l will never take a chance by buying a Saab again!!

expensive to repair when things go wrong, even maintence items are expensive. would`nt recommend saab. my opnion !
