If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow, you may be required to use chains no matter what car you drive.

A few years ago, l was driving through Tahoe, when a strong snowstorm hit on our way out. Luckily l had just bought chains that day for that very reason. Chains were MANDATORY for the stretch of highway 80 l needed to use. There were Chain Control roadblocks where they checked every vehicle for chains or snow tires.

Yes they do with snow tires. However there are conditions where snow chains are a must.

Definitely! They r made in Sweden, near the Arctic Circle! Almost all Saabs r front-wheel drive, which is very good for traction, since the weight of the engine is directly over the driving wheels. Some new Saabs offer all-wheel drive, like the 9-2x & 9-7x. The best choice would be the new 9-3 with xwd, a state-of-the-art all-wheel-drive system by Saab.
Still, any Saab is good for snow driving, especially with good tires! Several police stations in Colorado ski towns used to use Saabs, until they got to be too expensive.

No problem driving in the snow in Massachusetts. l use the winter mode sometime if the snow is deep and has not been cleared.
